Street parking is not permitted in the Medical Center during this event. Towing will be enforced. The City of Amarillo will have shuttles running from Amarillo College’s West Campus and AmTech Career Academy starting at 11:30 am for all Discover! 5.0 guests free of charge.

FOLDING LAWN CHAIRS ALLOWED ON SHUTTLES! THERE WILL BE NO AUTHORIZED PARKING AVAILABLE NEAR THE DISCOVERY CENTER – PUBLIC MUST TAKE THE SHUTTLE OR RISK BEING TOWED.

Discover! 5.0: Saturday, September 5th, 2026 | 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm | Don Harrington Discovery Center

Join us for the Don Harrington Discovery Center’s 50th anniversary celebration in partnership with the City of Amarillo, the Amarillo Symphony, and High Plains Public Radio.

Discover! 5.0 will include:

Museum Access
- General admission to the Don Harrington Discovery Center will be reduced to $5 per person for this special event.
John Ward Memorial Park
- Access will be FREE to the community all day to join in on the festivities in the DHDC parking lot between 12 pm and 5 pm with yard games, bounce houses, and community performances. Stick around into the evening with a picnic blanket or lawn chair to find a spot to watch The Amarillo Symphony take the stage at 7:30 pm behind the Discovery Center alongside the BIGGEST drone show in Amarillo to date!

Can’t attend in person? Tune in to High Plains Public Radio for a live broadcast of the Amarillo Symphony’s performance if you’re in Amarillo at 105.7 FM. You can also listen via their app or website.
